Alyson Marie Leselle
P A T R O N {saint} of music
Black dress, with the tights underneath
I got the breath of the last cigarette on my teeth
And she's an actress, but she ain't got no need
She's got money from her parents in a trust fund back east

♥ None of this was her fault. Not any of it. She looked down at her cell phone and blinked a few times before closing it. It had to be wrong. I mean, really. Why would this be happening? Not only had Jessie and her dad seemed so happy together, but her brother was only five years old. How was this possible? It couldn’t be him. And the fact that Jessie was blaming it on her? Woah, talk about out of the blue. Alyson Leselle looked down at her cell phone again and nearly threw it against the ground in the courtyard. She was sitting on one of the many benches and had her iPod blaring in her ears. Hawk Nelson again. Charlie had introduced her to the band back in, like, 2006, when they had first become friends. Back when the cool iPod was the blue nano- the skinny one. She told Charlie everything. She was Aly’s best friend. Charlie came from the same basic situation that Aly did- parent’s divorced, a sister that was almost ten years younger than she was, and not seeing her father as much as she should’ve. Charlie was the only one Sly told everything to. Even Meara, her very, very best friend from school didn’t know as much as Charlie did. However, Charlie had changed on Aly after a while and she didn’t like the change. Charlie had started to favor their friend Sara… and Sara eventually asked Charlie out. That didn’t bother Aly. She didn’t mind being friends with a girl like Charlie who was bisexual or whatever. It was the fact that she was changing for Sara and that she was okay with Sara still having a boyfriend while she was dating Charlie. That bothered Aly, so she started to choose Meara, the same way Charlie chose Sara- minus the whole going out thing. Meara’s parents were still together and seemingly happy, so she couldn’t understand what Aly was going through.[/color][/blockquote]
♥ Aly had gotten a text from her stepmother saying ‘Thanks for running my relationship with your father’ followed by one from her dad saying ‘Jessie wants a divorce. She’s blaming you for no reason’. That was when Aly wanted to burst out in screams. She saw Jessie and her father about once every six months considering the distance and the cost of plane tickets. So how was it her fault? When she was with Jessie, they were super duper close. That bothered Aly’s mother, of course, but she got over it. They e-mailed more than her and her father did, and Aly had Jessie as her number five friend on Myspace, following Jayden, Meara, Kevin and Keith. Well, it was off to change that then. It wasn’t like Aly ever said anything to her mother about the things they talked about, so her mother couldn’t have anything to do with this. It was beyond her how any of this was her fault. Eh, who cared? If she was going to be a bitch about things, then so be it. No more nice step mom. Bring on the role of evil stepmother. Call the evil stepsisters, the prince and the fairy godmother. She snickered to herself. She wouldn’t have to call the last two. She had those already- as well as the little mice that were friends with Cinderella. Kevin, Keith, Meara and Jayden took those spots.
♥ Jayden was her prince. Recently, she had befriended Jayden Knight, a junior demon guy who she was infatuated with. They had a study hall together (the only study hall Aly actually had) and both got there late. They were stuck at the same table together. She remembered looking at him and thinking ‘Oh god. It’s like Sara as a guy. Bad. News’. She didn’t remember exactly how he had seen it, but he saw the band she was listening to on her iPod and poked her, showing her a note that said ‘I saw them in concert last summer. They were amazing.’ Aly nodded and looked away. Then he nudged her again and pointed to the rest of the note. ‘You should come with me to the McFly concert later. They’re amazing.’ Aly raised an eyebrow and scribbled ‘Who’s McFly?’ That was the first time Jayden and Aly ever talked. The bell rang soon after their conversation in his notebook and she walked out before they could even tell each other their names. She saw him at the concert that night and they hung out the whole night. By then, Aly had been fighting with Kevin and Keith for around two weeks and Meara was off hanging out with some other people. So it was Jayden and Aly alone. That was what they counted as their first date. The rest of their study halls had been spent together, and by the next week, they had been holding hands on the way to their next class. They didn’t call each other ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ yet, and they hadn’t kissed, but they had been close enough and acted like it. It sure as hell made Keith and Kevin jealous.
♥ Oh, the boys. They were her “Gus-Gus” and “Jaques-Jaques”- the mice that were friends with Cinderella. The two had been friends since soccer in middle school. Kevin was the new kid from New York and Keith was the all star from little kid soccer. They were voted co-captains for the team and led the team to victory at the area championship. Keith brought his friend Meara (the ‘fairy godmother’ in the story) to one of their parties. Meara was instantly attracted to Kevin- but in a friend way. He had a magnetism about him that Meara loved. Keith was happy his two best friends got along. It wasn’t until Aly came to Collingwood with them that there were problems within the group.
♥ When Aly came to school with them, she had been talking to Kevin via letters and e-mail for years. Kevin’s dad had moved around a lot when he was a kid. Mostly, he went by himself because the jobs were close enough to be able to do that. But when he got a job that wasn’t in the same state, much less the same country, the whole family had to move. Kevin, his sister, his mother and his father moved away. Aly and Kevin were best friends in grade school. She was his only real girl friend and vice versa for Aly. She loved having him around. Kevin’s mom and Aly’s mom swore up and down that they were either going to be the Prom king and Queen in high school or get married- or both. She was so upset when Kevin looked her in the eye and told her that her that he was moving. It wasn’t a good time for Aly. She cried for days before she could see Kevin again. She had to make Kevin promise her two write every day. He agreed. From then on, Aly and Kevin talked every day and sent pictures every month. It wasn’t the same, but it was better than not talking at all. And even if they didn’t see each other every day, they were never closer. Aly and Kevin promised each other to stay friends no matter what.
♥ Kevin introduced Aly to his friend Keith in her freshman year. She had classes with him- a study hall or a music class no doubt- and she had started to admire him from afar. He was good looking in the cute dorky way. He had the rectangle glasses and the mop top and he played in a band as a guitarist. He was Aly’s dream guy. If she could dream up a perfect nerd version of a prince charming, it would be Keith. When Aly saw him and Kevin together, it was like perfection. Her best friend got along with her crush- and was even his best friend! How awesome could this be! Aly had started to crush on him more when she hung out with him. And finally. Keith asked her out. It was perfect. She didn’t notice the jealous glare from behind Kevin’s eyes, but Keith and Meara did. After a while, the relationship got weird. Keith and Aly were too much like brother and sister… and Aly realized how much she was in love with Kevin. Keith, however, never got over it. He wanted Aly back, and couldn’t keep his mind off of her, even as Meara started to try and get his attention. Meara, obviously liked Keith the same way he liked Aly. She’d love to see her two best friends together- it would be so cute! - but Keith didn’t see it that way. He saw how close Aly and Kevin were getting and got mad. He stopped talking to Aly. That hurt. She was stubborn at first, and refused to talk to him as well, but it was hard. She gave in and asked what was wrong. When he said it was Kevin, she was forced to choose. And she chose both. She stopped talking to Kevin as much. That was when Jayden came into her life.
♥ And now? Aly had enough to think about. There was the issue of her friends and now her father? What was next, her mother being pregnant- oh god, she hoped not. That would be too much to handle. Oh, god, she needed to talk to Marina as soon as possible. Marina Huntington was her new friend. She knew everything that Aly needed. Meara had good fashion sense, but Marina knew how to make Aly look sexy for once in her life. Meara knew how to make Aly look pretty and presentable, but Marina knew how to make guys want her. She was exactly what Aly needed, but Aly wasn’t ready to be sexy just yet. She was the patron saint of innocence, no pun intended. She was scared to death of having sex with someone, and looking like she wanted it was bad news. Even though Aly did want to feel self confident and maybe a little bit sexy, Marina would go over the top. That was why she had Meara… right?
♥ Aly sighed and pulled her long, newly brown hair to the side and clipped it there. She bit her lip and closed her eyes. Turning her iPod down a little, she changed the song. Her new favorite song- Some Time Around Midnight by the Airborne Toxic Event- came on and she clenched her eyes shut. None of this was her fault. None of it could be…
