say you're sorry that face of an angel comes out just when you need
it to. as i paced back and forth all this time cause i honestly believed in
you.. holding on the days drag on, stupid girl, i should have known.
i'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale i'm not the one you'll sweep off
her feet, lead her up the stairwell and this ain't hollywood, this is a small
town, i was a dreamer before you went and let me down now it's too
late for you and your white horse, to come around

pain. that was the first thing that little bryleigh felt as she opened her eyes. it was soaring through her, and the source of it seemed to be her foot. not only that, but the brunette's head seemed to be pounding, like there was a war going on between her brain cells. bryleigh blinked once or twice, hoping that the effect of her eyelids moving would make her vision clearer. it was like she was looking at the world through a sheet of smoke. when the blinking seemed useless after a few moments, she brought up her hands and rubbed both her eyes. she felt like someone had hit her over the head with a large brick. and why was the petite angel feeling this way? she honestly had no clue. bryleigh sighed as she brought her hands to her sides and tried to sit up, only to have a lady come up to her and tell her that she needed to rest. who was she? why could bryleigh still not see anything? sighing again, she let the elderly looking woman push her back down. was she dead? why was everything white? and why the hell did it smell like she was in a hospital? and then it dawned on her. bryleigh rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath. this clumsiness was going to be the end of her.
so there she was right, at 8.00 a.m in the morning, minding her business. why was she up that early on a saturday? she had no idea. bryleigh was usually the girl to sleep to about 12 and then laze about until jake or drey came and pulled her out of her dorm. but lately she hadn't been sleeping well and decided she'd like to take a walk around the campus. and you see, being the clumsy little girl she is, after she'd managed to get safely out of her dorm and walk down a few stairs, bryleigh's foot had gotten caught onto something on the step she was on, and down she went. that was the last memory that her mind would take her back to. bryleigh's clumsiness was something she needed to work on. her friends always told her it was out of carelessness. that she never really paid attention to the things around her but it really wasn't her fault that she was born with two left feet. okay, true, maybe she was careless, what other explanation was there for her walking into walls or hitting herself over the head with a hockey stick and fainting? thinking about it now, there really was no other excuse.
she hated hospitals. loathed them with such a great passion that... there really was no way to describe it at all. she felt sick the moment she stepped into any room that even looked like it could be a part of a hospital. the whiteness, the smell, the nurses... okay, maybe hot doctors were a major plus but that was quite rare in the hospitals she'd been in. doctors where mainly old and... old. bryleigh blinked again as her vision started to clear up very slightly. she started paying attention to small details. she clearly wasn't dead and there were about three or four nurses running about, this place clearly wasn't a hospital because the machines weren't that up to date and the nurses didn't look like hospital nurses (there really was a difference). and also, the whole of her right leg seemed to be covered in some hard white material. "great." she mumbled to herself. "just perfect." the last thing that bryleigh needed was a cast on her leg. she could so not picture herself with crutches right now. the last time she'd used them, she was eleven, with a fractured bone. she'd realized that day, that her soccer days were over before it had even began.
bryleigh literally whimpered as she imagined her dancing career fly off with fluttery little wings into the distance. this. was. not. POSSIBLE! as soon as she could make her vision reappear completely she would order the nurse to take off the cast immediately. and pray that her leg would get better, fast. brya pouted her lips as she realized that casts mainly stayed for 6-8 weeks, longer even, and that didn't make her a happy puppy. even if the cast came off, she'd probably have to limp around the school like a sore looser. she hated her life right now. bryleigh started wondering when they would let her out of here, probably when she could actually see what was going on properly. what if they'd called her mom and told her to come pick her up? bryleigh giggled. her mom would probably ask them what they were talking about. not like she knew she had a daughter. she was always the parent with her head up in the clouds and now, she was in new york probably in some meeting with vogue or elle or something.
bryleigh sat up, this time successfully, and rested her head on the wall behind her. she pouted her lips slightly and brought her arms up and crossed them around her chest. she probably looked like an angry child, you know, when they storm off and pout in a corner. but she was planning to stay like this until someone actually came and told her something.
